SING Nigeria Appoints Dr. Itari Turner New Executive Director

Effective today, 11th May, 2022, the Sustainable Initiative for Nurturing Growth (SING) Nigeria has appointed Itari Turner, Ph.D as its new Executive Director.

This appointment follows a resolution by Members of Board at a meeting to replace the former Executive Director who resigned in February to focus and concentrate on his new found interest and engagement which may clash with his position in the organisation.

The entire board members and staff of our organization are strongly behind Dr. Itari who has been our foundational member, a strong pillar, and has been acting as the Executive Director since the resignation of Idris Usman.

Dr. Itari Turner, aside from working as the Research and Financial Director of SING, a position she has held since 2018, is a lecturer in Policy and strategy at Baze University, Abuja, Nigeria. She attained her Ph.D in Management Research from Brunel University, London; an M.Sc in Human Resources Management from Brunel University, London, and holds a in Business Economics from the American University of Nigeria, Yola.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, a Human Resource Consultant, and a youth mentor, and has worked on several projects both in Nigeria and Abroad.

Her doctoral and post-doctoral research interests focus on the social nature of labour, challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa, new forms of work and Gender studies. Turner is also the founder and CEO of Illuminating Minds Consult (IMC), with special passion for gender issues and education.

Dr. Turner will be bringing her experiences to bear in her new role as the Executive Director of the organization, and she has the best wishes and assurances of the Board’s support.
