A delegation of the management team of the Save Ijaw Nation Group (SING), yesterday visited the offices of Women Arise in Lagos, ostensibly to forge partnership.
The team, led by SING’s Director of Research, Dr. Itari Turner also had its Director of Operations and Publisher of Corruption Reporters Online Magazine, Comrade Idris Usman and others.
The group said the visit, was not just a solidarity visit to the renowned Human Rights Activist and Icon, but also an opportunity, to intimate Dr. Joe Odumakin “further about the activities of the SING and explore possible areas of collaboration with Women Arise in areas of Good Governance, Women and Youth empowerment, for the people of the Niger Delta region”.
The Director of Research, Dr. Turner, had earlier lauded the relentless commitments of Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, to issues of Human Rights, Women and Youth Empowerment, not minding the calibre of personality involved. In her response, Dr. Odumakin applauded the various initiative of the SING, towards advocating for Good governance, safe Environments and empowerment for the women and youth in Ijaw land and the Niger Delta at large.
She expressed the readiness of Women Arise, to partner with SING, “in areas of programs that promotes Good Governance, Human Rights and welfare of the citizens of the Niger Delta and beyond”. She further stated that “the doors of the organization is open to organisations, whose cardinal focus remains the interest of the ordinary citizens in Nigeria, and anywhere across the globe”.
